At Staton Silber, P.S., our dedication to supporting and empowering workers goes beyond assisting them with their L&I claims and addressing employment or labor law issues. We are committed to fostering the next generation of leaders by providing annual scholarships aimed at helping students achieve their higher education goals. Staton Silber, P.S. proudly announces its scholarship program available to both law school students and undergraduate college students. This year, a total of $4,000 in scholarships will be distributed as follows:
- Legal Studies Scholarship: $2,000 to one outstanding law school student.
- General Scholarship: $1,000 each to two exceptional undergraduate students with a focused interest in law or public interest.
Scholarship Application Guidelines and Regulations
Please review the following submission guidelines thoroughly before applying to ensure eligibility and correct submission of your essay. Applications that fail to adhere to these guidelines will be ineligible.

General Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents;
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in or have recently been accepted to an accredited U.S. law school (for the Legal Studies Scholarship) or an accredited U.S. college or university (for the Undergraduate Scholarship);
- Selected winners will need to provide proof of citizenship or residency and either current enrollment or recent acceptance.
Application Guidelines
Participants are required to submit an original essay between 400 – 600 words based on the prompts provided below. Essays should adhere to standard format, including an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. We encourage creativity in the submissions! Ensure that no personal identifying information (PII) like names, addresses, contact details, or resumes are included within the essay content.
Scholarship Prompts
- Legal Studies Scholarship ($2000): What motivated your decision to pursue a career in law? Are there specific areas of law you aim to focus on, and what objectives do you hope to achieve in your legal career?
- General Scholarship ($1,000): What degree are you pursuing and what inspired this choice? How do you plan to utilize your education to contribute to your community?
Judging and Award Process
Winners will be chosen by a panel of experts from Staton Silber, P.S. based on the applicant’s compliance with entry requirements and the quality and clarity of their response to the essay prompt.
The scholarships for legal studies and general studies are both one-time financial awards, intended solely for academic tuition. Winners will be notified via email, and the scholarship funds will be directly sent to the educational institution once the winner’s enrollment is confirmed.
